SUPERVISION

YOUR GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

As a supervisor, my aim is to provide a reflective, supportive, and confidential space for you to explore and develop your clinical practice. Whether you're in training, newly qualified or experienced, supervision is an essential part of ethical practice and ongoing professional development.

IFS SUPERVISION

I will guide you in incorporating IFS concepts and interventions into your practice. IFS places a strong emphasis on the therapist’s own internal system, encouraging greater self-awareness and emotional attunement.Together, we’ll examine your own parts and how they show up in the therapeutic space, supporting you in maintaining a grounded and compassionate presence for your clients.

Therapists can often face emotional burnout, and IFS offers a framework for fostering self-compassion and maintaining healthy boundaries. We’ll work together to ensure you’re nurturing your own well-being while staying connected to your “Self” energy, which is essential for sustaining a long-term career in therapy.

ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE

My experience as a tutor on the Advanced Clinical Practice at the Metanoia Institute allows me to bring a deep understanding of the practical challenges therapists face as they integrate theory with practice. In addition, my experience as a clinical examiner for the UKCP vivas further honed my skills in guiding clinicians through complex theoretical and practical questions.

WHAT I OFFER IN SUPERVISION

·  Reflective and Supportive Space: Supervision is a place where you can reflect on your therapeutic work, gain insight into difficult cases, and explore the challenges you face in practice. I offer a non-judgmental, compassionate space for discussing both your professional and personal experiences in therapy.

·  Developing Clinical Skills: Whether it’s deepening your understanding of specific therapeutic techniques or integrating new models, I will guide you in refining your clinical skills. I draw from a variety of approaches—including psychodynamic and humanistic.

·  Building Resilience and Maintaining Self-Care: Therapy can be emotionally demanding, and it’s crucial to ensure that you maintain your own mental health and resilience. I will work with you on developing healthy boundaries, fostering self-compassion, and preventing burnout—ensuring that you can continue to support your clients without sacrificing your own well-being.

·  Addressing Countertransference and Self-Awareness: We’ll reflect on how your personal experiences, triggers, and emotions influence your work. I believe that increasing self-awareness as a therapist is essential to effective practice. By examining countertransference and how your internal system interacts with your clients' parts, you can better navigate the challenges of the therapeutic relationship.
